Fun Run Offers Sweet Support for Pediatric Patients | Events
The fifth annual Donut Dash fun run will take place Saturday, March 9, 2013 to raise money for the Child Life Program at Sutter Children’s Center, Sacramento. This unique 4-mile race has runners stopping at the two-mile mark to eat four donuts at Marie’s Donuts, then running two more miles to the finish line. This is a family event and strollers and dogs on leashes are welcomed. Registration includes four donuts from Marie’s Donuts, event t-shirt (guaranteed for those registered before Feb. 28) and a one-of-a-kind finisher’s award. Sutter Children’s Center, part of the Sutter Health network of care, is a comprehensive children’s hospital that is part of Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento. It serves 7,000 children a year from 26 Northern California counties and beyond. Among its specialized pediatric services are an 80-bed, Level III neonatal intensive care unit, heart surgery, oncology, neurosurgery, orthopedics and clinics for epilepsy, childhood diabetes, cleft palates, obesity and many other diseases that affect children from birth to 18 years old.
